The 7 Wonders Of The World

They are consider the seven wonders of the world the most important creations of the Antiquity, impresive by their size and tehniqe achievements. Those are: 1. The Piramids of Ghiza: The hightest of the three piramids has 146 meters and the base of 230 metres. For the build of it were used 2 300 000 blocks of stone aprox. 2. 5 tones each. The faces of the the piramids were boarded with granit. 2. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were bilded by the legendary queen Semiramida of the Babylon. The queen was abandoned in the desert by her mother and the legend says that she was feed by piegons and after that she was grown by some farmers. Becoming queen she ordered to build the castle of Babylon The Hanging Gardens.

3. The Colosus of Rhodes was a huge statue made of bronze witch was placed at the enteries of the Rhodes port. It was the statue of Helios the God of the sun. The statue has been disappear behind of an earthquake. The contemporary archaeologists describes says that the statue had 32 meters.

4. The Tomb of Mausolus of Halicarnas is the tomb of king Mausol of the antiq state Caria.

Rised at Halicarnas it was started by Mausol and finished by his wife Artemisa.

5. Pharos of Alexandria was bild in the III century B. C. to gide the boats that was entered in the Alexandria port. It was made by three components and ir had an hight of 130 meters and was made from white marble but just like the Colosus of Rhodes it was destroied by an earthqake.

6. Temple of Diana at Ephesusn was started in the VII century B. C. and was finished in the in the IV B. C. The temple was build in the Ionic stile and it had 127 columns rich decorated. It was destroied in the IV-VI A. D. 7. The Statue of Zeus at Olimpia was made from wood gold and tusk and was made by Fidias. Placed in the big temple of Olimpia the Statue had a height of 36 feet it portraits the god stand on his throne having in the right hand the statue of godess Victoria and in the left hand a scepter. It was destroied in the IV century A.
