Borsec springs are located in the North-Eastern side of Romania, in Borsec depression ,Harghita county, in the heartland of The Carpathian Mountains. Borsec spa lies at a 900 m altitude. The large coniferous forest, which surround it, provides a particular healthy microclimat.
The bottling of Borsec mineral water was made along time by several enterprisers, and since 1945, the bottling activity had been continued by different contractors until its nationalization in 1948. In 1998, the former state-owned enterprise "Queen of Mineral Waters Borsec" has turned into the private company "ROMAQUA GROUP" S.A. Borsec.
In the last years, following its taking part to different national and international exhibitions, Borsec was awarded over 30 medals. In February 2004, Borsec is distinguished "The Best Mineral Water in the World" at Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Awards in West Virginia, U.S.A. The international recognition of this authentic Romanian brand was also proved in 2006, when Borsec received two remarkable distinctions: The Trusted Brand and The Superbrand.
